State of Grace, Peace, Love, and Healing is offering a two-day wellness retreat at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Phoenix, Arizona, April 21 – 22, 2024. This retreat raises awareness of different healing modalities and emphasizes community, connectedness, and the needed environment for healing with women at the center of the conversations. Our April retreat includes conversations on acupuncture, homeopathy, healing through sound, mediation, journaling, finding your flow, and mala-bead necklace creation. Additionally, engage in a discussion on letting go of fear and settling into courage, practicing yoga, and mindful walking while in community with other women.

Stay at the lovely Franciscan Renewal Center during the retreat, which boasts a stunning labyrinth and 25 acres of desert beauty. Private rooms with bathrooms and delicious meals are included. The center is beautiful and perfect for relaxing, being in community, and engaging in conversations about the process of healing.

The cost to participate in the retreat is $528.00. This covers one-night lodging in a private room, meals, and all retreat sessions.

Catherine Niemiec, J.D., L.Ac., is the President and Founder of the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. As a Filipino-American whose great-grandfather was an herbalist in the Philippines, she comes from a line of medical doctors and healthcare providers. After her studies (University of Arizona, University of California-Hastings College of the Law), she practiced law in California and served as director for a national legal education company. She completed the residency program at the Institute of Chinese Herbology in Oakland, California, and later became a Licensed Acupuncturist.
Elizabeth Welles is a versatile creator who uses words, visual art, and the imagination to uplift, heal, and inspire. She’s a storyteller, author, and consultant with expertise in meditation, communication, journaling, and storytelling. From New York, Los Angeles, and overseas, Elizabeth shares her art and her knowledge to entertain, reduce stress, enhance creativity, and nurture peace in people’s hearts. She has authored books like Journaling for Well-Being & Peace and Women Celebrate: The Gift in Every Moment, and the online course, Finding Peace through the Power of Rest. Dr. Lisa Weinrib has been doing intuitive work with clients for over 20 years, helping them with relationship, business, financial, health, and life purpose issues. She uses an unconventional spiritual approach which removes blocks (often from past lives) that are hindering people in their current lives. She is particularly interested in teaching clients to “become their own guru,” so they can live more intuitively and productively. A comprehensive explanation of her work can be found in her book, Healing the Soul: An Intuitive MD’s Prescription for Health and Wholeness, available on Amazon. Dr. Lisa is a traditionally trained MD who specialized in rheumatology before she had a spiritual awakening.
Matthew began studying Qi Gong in 2010 with Professor Chris Quayle of the North American Tang Shuo Tao Association where he later earned his Black Belt in Kajukenbo. In 2018 Matthew spent a year studying Qi Gong and Kung Fu in China at the Kunyu Mountain Shaolin Academy. In 2019 Matthew Spent 3 months living with Master Yang of YMAA learning the 5 Animals Qi Gong. Along with his Qi Gong studies, Matthew also completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2019. Currently Matthew teaches Medical Qi Gong at PIHMA, he is also a student at PIHMA where he works with patients using his medical Qi Gong theories.

Jyl was awarded a Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition “For exemplary service and dedication to improving the lives of others by promoting and fostering opportunities for participation in fitness, sports or nutrition programs.” Steinback, who has worked in the health and wellness industry for more than 35 years as a personal trainer, educator, and lifestyle guru has sold more than 2 million books that educate consumers to change their lifestyle by making positive choices through proper nutrition, exercise, and healthy living. She has been a spokesperson teaching health and wellness throughout the country. She has been a homeopathic practitioner for eight years with her passion of healing the a person from the “inside-out”. Jyl is passionate about “Building A Healthier Future for Children”. Creator, Giver, and Mala-Bead Jewelry Designer – Paula has been a creator of the most festive celebrations for 50 years. She has worked with military generals to create large celebrations for noted attendees, always with the most elegant and festive approaches. She is a giver to her Phoenix, Arizona community through volunteer work and co-developing community healing centers. She is a mala-bead jewelry designer and a partner in State of Grace Peace, Love, Healing Wellness Retreats!
Maribeth worked for 10 years in the field of community mental health. She specialized in working with women struggling with a variety of issues including depression, PTSD and Personality Disorders. She particularly enjoyed helping women learn the skills needed to set healthy boundaries in their relationships. She addressed many types of boundaries including those with family, friends, work and intimate partners. When Maribeth left her job as a counselor, she returned to teaching where she specialized in helping students who struggled with Math Anxiety. Now retired, Maribeth put together a short course for women who want to set healthy boundaries in all types of personal relationships.
